Miniature Book Review: Fangirl (by Rainbow Rowell)

Greetings, my dear Stars!

I’m here today so that we can discuss Fangirl.

fangirl

SUMMARY (WITHOUT SPOILERS)

Fangirl is primarily written through the eyes of a shy, introverted college student who is famous under a pen name for writing fanfiction online. Up until the first day of college, Cath (protagonist) and her twin sister Wren have always been the best of friends, constantly joined by the hip. When Wren and Cath don’t end up rooming together, Cath faces the struggles of college and the story begins.

Cath must make sense of her life and battle her way through classes, her weird roommate, Wren, her parents, the cute guy that is always looking out for her and the feelings that go along with him, the pressure of writing fanfiction and the stressful life of college in general…

RATING AND PERSONAL OPINION

I would definitely give this book five out of five stars. Cath is such a relatable, honest character and the plotline is realistic. Fangirl is a heart-warming story, filled with the real-life doubts, hopes, fears and realisations that young girls and writers face on a daily basis. I couldn’t turn the pages fast enough…
